ARCHEOCLIMA

Project Name: ArcheoCLIMA – Archaeology of Climate Change in Ancient Southern Italy – Cascade funding call for proposals from the University of Bari Aldo Moro – project “CHANGES – Cultural Heritage Active Innovation for Sustainable Society”

Date: January 2025

Single Project Code: H53C22000860006

Area: Environment, GIS Solutions

The project is part of the cascade funding call launched by the University of Bari Aldo Moro, funded under the Project entitled “CHANGES – Cultural Heritage Active Innovation for Sustainable Society”, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU. Its goal is to develop an innovative procedural protocol for “global archaeology of human-environment co-evolution”, aimed at studying in an integrated way the modalities, outcomes and cultural meanings of the historical interaction between climate, environment and human societies, all considered as morphogenetic agents (that is, capable of shaping the territory and culture over time).

Webgenesys is involved in the Industrial Research phase for the creation of the WebGIS solution and the underlying database designed to represent the results of the experimental development activities carried out by the University of Salento and the University of Foggia, other partners in the project. Webgenesys will also conduct data collection for Digital Terrain Models (DTM) with targeted drone flyovers and will contribute to the dissemination of the project results.

The experimental area for this approach will be Apulia, with a specific focus on climate changes documented between the Roman, Medieval and Modern periods.

Partner: Webgenesys SpA, University of Salento, University of Foggia
